Good Night Irene
We’re happy that Hurricane Irene didn’t hit us, but praying for the Bahamas that they stay safe through the storm.
It’s a little strange outside. There are winds blowing and they sound like the stray winds of a hurricane, and not the average everyday wind. They are more powerful sounding even though they aren’t anywhere near the center of the storm where all the rough weather is. Tomorrow shall be interesting. I didn’t pull my palms off their chair stands, and I hope I don’t regret that overnight. I’ll revisit that decision in the morning, hoping it’s not pouring.
One crazy thing that happened is that Mimi has saturated herself in her own urine in her crate today. This dog can step outside and sniff the air and knows there is a storm nearby. She is a little out of herself tonight, very quiet in the house but out in the back yard after dinner she was busy walking around looking for poop to eat. Yes, indeed. She’s a gem! Of course, I’m the one who’s exhausted after bathing her and her crate and under and behind it. But she’s napping, and she still stinks! I sprayed her with XO and will submerge her in a bubble bath as soon as I get a chance. Hoping for tomorrow if there aren’t rains. In the meantime, the XO and bath did help, but the smell is still there. Such a sensitive weather predicting soul.
