This picture was taken on November 1st, 2008. This was the day I bought 4 Cinderella pumpkins at Publix for a dollar each. Luigi was particularly fond of this one I call the peanut pumpkin.
Though this one caught his fancy too. Enough so, that he tried to take a pretty good sized nip of it. But I stopped him in the nick of time.
I put them in the house where they stayed until last Sunday, the 16th, when I pulled one out and trimmed out the pumpkin. It took an hour and a half. Luigi helped. He loved the raw pumpkin and taste tested as much as possible.
Today, I came home to lunch, and noticed something different about the peanut pumpkin.
So did Annie.
She’s our in-house detective. Detective Annie Blue Skies, as a matter of fact.
Nothing gets past her or her nose.
At first, Luigi played dumb, but the temptation staring him in his snoot was too big to withstand. He dove into the pumpkin and pulled out a nice chunk to munch, and showed us how it’s done.
Nibble, nibble, nibble. Ahhh…well, sometimes you just gotta give into your cravings. That’s Luigi’s motto anyway.
